Jiri Kalf
I was born in Olomouc (1976). In my work, I focus on the human face as a crossroads where external appearance meets the inner world. For me, a portrait is not just a likeness, but a way to capture authenticity and a quiet message in a gaze or gesture. Alongside my own creative work, I am also a teacher. Sharing experiences with students is a dialogue for me, one that constantly brings me back to the essence of the image and the process of seeing. My paintings arise from careful observation and a search for balance between realism and atmosphere.
